The TEA Party movement is an interesting phenomenon, and it’s got both major political parties wondering what effect it will have in the upcoming elections. Democrats wonder if it will help Republican candidates. Some Republicans fear that TEA Party members will vote for an independent or, seeing Republicans and Democrats as merely different shades of gray, just not vote. So, as a former elected Republican, here’s some advice if Republicans want to get invited for “tea” during next election season.

The Governor is calling a special session to discuss education reform, in particular, an increased level of teacher accountability so as to qualify for a few hundred million federal dollars for K-12 education. Here’s what would make it really special.

The Family Action Council has joined the Facebook era and invites you to become a Facebook fan. You can also now follow us on Twitter. On Twitter we’ll let you know of important events on the Hill as they happen ... and hopefully before they happen. With these new tools it gives new meaning to being a patriotic “minuteman.” Being connected means being informed. And informed citizens, acting on the information they have, can make a difference.
