Kent Williams: New Title, No Party

The repercussions from the election of Representative Kent Williams (R-Elizabethton) continue to roll in.  Yesterday, Robin Smith, Chair of the Tennessee Republican Party, acting in response to written challenges to Speaker Williams’ bona fides as a Republican official by 30 of the Republican Party’s state Executive Committee’s 66 members, effectively removed the new Speaker from the state’s Republican Party.  What does that mean to those interested in the issues?

Focused on FOCA

Several people have asked in recent days and weeks about the status of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) that President Obama has promised to push into law.  Just how much freedom will it leave the states?

Ministers’ Day on the Hill

March 17th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. (CST) The Family Action Council’s Third Annual Ministers’ Day on the Hill will convene.  It is a day for ministers from across the state to meet to worship, fellowship, and learn more about the issues of our day.  And it is also day of service to our elected legislators through corporate and personal prayer for them.  If you are minister, we would love to have you join us.  If you are not a minister, perhaps you would want to encourage your minister to attend.

Blessings,

David Fowler

President, Family Action of Tennessee
