Making Taxpayer-Funded Abortions a State Constitutional Right

Tennessee is a pro-life state, generally speaking. But one Tennessee Representative has filed a proposal to amend the state constitution that, read as written, would require Tennessee taxpayers to fund virtually all abortions. It’s just the beginning of the effort by legislators who oppose the pro-life position to appear pro-life to the unsuspecting pro-life voter back home.

With Phil Bredesen’s service as Governor term-limited, three Republicans already have announced their plans to run for the open gubernatorial post. Now a fourth has joined the race, and it will make things even more interesting.
