The More the Marry-er
| |
While running the campaign in 2006 to make sure Tennessee’s Constitution protected the definition of marriage from liberal, activist judges, I heard opponents say that the law should not discriminate by allowing only heterosexuals who love each other to get married. Marriage Is the 'Maine' Thing
| |
Yesterday, Maine became the first state to decide by popular election whether to approve or repeal a homosexual marriage law. Earlier this year Maine’s legislature passed a law allowing homosexual marriage, but the people were able to put on a ballot a measure that would repeal that law. With the votes in, marriage won, meaning all 31 states to have voted on the issue of the definition or meaning of marriage have voted in favor of marriage between one man and one woman. Makes you wonder how many victories it will take before politicians begin to listen to what the people are saying about redefining marriage. |
