2009: Increased Engagement

One of the exciting developments this year is that more of you have been engaging with us at an increasing rate! This is so important. The more you are engaged, the more informed you are; and the more informed you are, the greater your influence. Having sat for 12 years in the seat of a state legislator, I know that engaged and informed citizens can make a difference in our public squares and particularly on The Hill in Nashville.

The trends are very encouraging:

  • An over 200% increase in the number of unique visitors to our Web site each month. And that follows a 400% increase from 2007 to 2008.

  • A 50% increase this year over last year in the number of pages being viewed by our visitors.

  • A whopping 1,000% increase in the number of online listeners to our audio news commentary,The FACT Report ... and that just since the first quarter of this year!

  • And every month now, a couple of hundred of your fellow Tennesseans are subscribing to our Family Action News and to the Legislative Alerts published by our sister political organization, Family Action of Tennessee. Several thousand Tennesseans read each edition. You are not alone in this battle!

Speaking of The FACT Report, we have revamped it and are using a professional radio news reporter, Karen Johnson, previously with Family News in Focus, to help put our weekly broadcast. If you haven’t heard our really great new format, please take a minute and catch the latest edition.

More and more people are forwarding our emails to others and inviting their friends and neighbors to our community meetings. And that is helping make the difference we’ve seen.

Way to go! And in 2010 keep up the great work. As more of us join forces, our voices will begin to rise above the din of political correctness, moral relativism and political spin that fill the ears of our policy makers.
