Political Communications Internship

The political communications intern would help The Family Action Council of Tennessee (FACT) and Family Action of Tennessee fulfill its role with respect to the communication of public policy and biblical worldview thinking on current issues in Tennessee. It is FACT’s objective not only to provide exposure to a professional work environment to aid in the development of the intern’s professional deportment, but to also provide opportunities for significant and substantial responsibilities that provide marketable workplace experience.

The number of hours committed to the internship per week is negotiable based on the number of academic credit hours the student is to earn.

  • Monitoring House and Senate Committee calendars for hearings involving Family Action’s legislative agenda.

  • Assist in the maintenance of FACT’s Web page, including weekly maintenance of FACT’s legislative agenda table such as posting hearing dates and committee action, FACT’s position, and links to research and other materials related to the legislation in question.

  • Downloading and edit video clips of legislative debate for us on FACT’s Web page and for speeches and other educational programmatic purposes.

  • Development of short introductions to postings to FACT’s Web site that will draw the reader into the Web site.

  • Assist in the continuing development of FACT’s media contacts and distribution of The FACT Report.

  • Assist in the maintenance of FACT’s databases.

  • Assist FACT’s Church Contact Coordinator in the development of bulletin inserts and church contact materials.
